Waitrose Community Matters Grant
£210 awarded to Okehampton Citizens Advice
A big thank you to the Waitrose Community Matters team and the general public who voted for us through July in the Okehampton based supermarket. Three charities were displayed in the store and shoppers were given green tokens to vote for the local charity they believed would benefit from some funding. Thanks to a number of people voting for Citizens Advice, the Okehampton office were awarded £210 by the Supermarket to help assist with the advice sessions in the town. Okehampton Citizens Advice is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10am-4pm and Fridays 10am-1pm. They are also part of the Devon Adviceline service and contribute to the telephone advice given on Mondays and Thursdays, resulting in advice being provided for five days a week from the West Devon office.
Thank you to everyone in the community of Okehampton for voting for us. As a charity, we rely on donations and other charitable grants to provide free advice to the public.
