Citizens Advice Get Savvy with Big Energy Savings Week

Last week, Torridge, North, Mid and West Devon Citizens Advice marked Big Energy Saving Week with a number of partners as they toured the County promoting the campaign in connection with the Department for Energy and Climate Change.

As part of the national campaign, which ran from 26th to the 30th October, TNMWD Citizens Advice were able to help people cut their fuel bills and get all the financial support they are entitled to. Members of the public were encouraged to visit to find out how much they could save by switching energy suppliers. A number of energy saving light bulbs and raditor bleed keys were also given out to promote energy saving around the home and educate the public on saving money on their fuel bills.  As the clocks go back and the temperature drops now is the time for people look into whether they could save money on their energy bills. Big Energy Saving Week enabled many members of the community to talk to Citizens Advice about their energy bills. TNMWD distributed over 500 goodie bags filled with information on switching suppliers along with top tips and freebies for keeping your home warm.

The Charity attended Green Lanes shopping Centre, Tiverton Library, The Ockment Centre's Friday Hub in Okehampton and will be attending Crediton Farmers market to give away the last of the energy saving promotional items on the 7th November. A big thank you to the See Hear Centre (Living Options Devon), Age Concern, District Councils and EON's wall insulation team who joined TNMWD on their energy roadshow.
